Please check out this campaign to raise dough for a large printing press by woodcut printmaker Sean Starwars. His prints are amazing and he wants to be able to print at a much larger scale. Also in adding a press he wants to open his studio to other artists and allow them to print their hearts out too.

(Above) Me setting up my booth at the 2017 Art in the Park event put on by the Lawrence Arts Guild. It was my first time doing the event and it was a great time. I received honorable mention in the jurored part of the show.
(Below) My booth at the KC Fancon event in Lawrence, KS this year, put on by Craig Klotz. Also a great time. I'll be doing his Free State Comic Con this fall as well so keep the event in mind.

Above is my piece for the show: Just a Ride
The following is from Wonder Fair who put on their 3rd Hott Sheets group show in the summer of 2016.
THE CONCEPT of the first Hott Sheets show was born in 2010, out of the sudden heat of the summer and inspired by events in the global art market. In 2013, Hott Sheets II: Hotter Sheets followed the third hottest summer on record and reflected the heat of an art market on the rise. As we return to our Hott Sheets theme after another three years have elapsed, we find an even more staggering set of numbers: Summer 2015 made history as the hottest ever recorded, and two works of art (a Picasso and a Modigliani) shattered auction records, fetching above 170 millions dollars each. But despite its high highs, the Art Market is cooling off–especially for contemporary artists. The widening gap between what’s hot and what’s not has us wondering– how is the value of original artwork created? How is it sustained?
THE EXPERIMENT
We created a complex and convoluted flowchart into which we can plug in any work of art. Starting from an even playing field–a 9" x 6" sheet of paper–Hott Sheets artworks will travel through a series of formalist checks and conceptual balances, until a monetary value is objectively assigned to each entry. Artworks will be installed in the gallery in ascending order of their objective & scientifically-formulated price, and will be on view (and for sale) June 24 to August 14, 2016.

Born in St. Clere, Kansas part of Pottawatomie county, Jess Willard would rise to legendary status as the Heavyweight Champion of the World. As I grew up in St. Marys, just a few miles south of the "Pottawatomie Giant", passed down stories of his enormous stature and brawn cast him as our local Paul Bunyan-esque folklore hero. He acquired the title after a 26 round slug-fest with Jack Johnson in 1915. He lost the title a few years later in one of the most lopsided slobberknockers in sports history. Jack Dempsey put him on his back some seven times in the first round en route to defeating the champ. To this day, the "Pottawatomie Giant" is remembered as a legend on the back roads of rural northeast Kansas.
